Happy Holidays!

Here we are, looking at 2014 drawing to a close and as I look back over the issues that have occurred over the past 12 months, there have been many reminders of why the work we do at Fiore Group Training is so
very important.
But first I wanted to say a huge ‘thank you’ to you for being with us as we have taken this journey together. Our goal with this blog and newsletter is to provide you with relevant information concerning important workplace issues.
There continues to be significant acts of violence occurring within our workplaces, perpetrated by complete strangers, customers, clients and those who are known to their victims.
The same goes for bullying and harassment issues.
While it is true that British Columbia reached the dizzying heights of being the fifth Canadian region to enact legislation and regulations which mandated employers throughout the province to create policies and procedures dealing with workplace bullying and harassment, change does not happen overnight in any environment. Even when change does occur, humans don’t always do well with change.
At least the awareness is there and the subject matter of what is and what is not appropriate workplace conduct is heard more often in workplace conversations than it ever was before. And that is a very good thing.
Over the past 12 months we have been busy with product development and training delivery in a number of different industries. We’ll continue to do so that we can extend our reach and have conversations in workplaces that previously might not have spent a great deal of time focusing on employee safety (from both the physical and/or emotional perspective).
What it means for Fiore Group Training is that 2015 is going to be a very busy year with plenty of energy and continuing focus being poured into our reason for being here in the first place: creating incredibly safer workplaces.

We have so many things planned as a company for 2015

Firstly, you will see a new website in January. We are going to using the new site to post regular video pieces as well as slideshare presentations of some of our work.
Also in 2015, in addition to our core topics of Workplace Violence Prevention and Respectful Conduct in the Workplace we will be adding Accountability in the Workplace, followed later by our First Line Supervisor Program. These new programs are designed to enhance organizational culture and boost the employer’s ability to manage today’s increasingly complex workplaces and workforces as employees stretch across various generations and experience levels.
Another very exciting venture in 2015 that we at Fiore Group Training are working on is the Best Workplace Ever project.
This project is going to be brilliant. We have all worked in places where everything just worked. But what was it about those places that allowed everything to feel so good? We will be taking a look at the best places that we have ever worked and identifying those items which made it such a fantastic place to work.  We’ll be conducting interviews with people regarding their best workplaces too…..employees, supervisors and owners….and looking at those best practices which could work in other workplaces.
As you can see, there is a lot going on next year and we have really just gotten started…
Thank you for being part of our Fiore Group Family!
I hope you and your family have a safe and enjoyable holiday season. Make sure you take a taxi to any celebrations you are going to where alcohol is being served.
We see you in 2015!
